Dog Harness vs Collar Pros and Cons | Vanillapup

Infographic: Harness vs Collar, Which is Better for Your Dog?

Cesar Millan fans will tell you that collars are the best for leash walking training. And yet, it’s not uncommon to see grown dogs choking as they pull their handlers to the next bush.

When we consulted dog behaviourist Barbara Wright last year during the #my10ktoday walk, we were introduced to front-clip harnesses that discourage pulling and are much more comfortable for our dogs.

After that day, I threw my long-held belief that collars are better for walk training out the window.

But that doesn’t mean it’s wrong to use a collar on your dog. Collars have their good points and it is fine to use them once your dog masters leash walking and is able to walk properly without pulling and dashing.

Check out our infographic below to learn more about the pros and cons of harnesses and collars!
