Mama came home from work one day with a big bulky bag. As the trusted guard dog of the family, I went straight to sniff the suspicious package.
She told me in a cheery voice that Sam Forest Loo Lim lent it to me, but it didn’t seem like something special at first. When papa came home, he took out his bicycle and started fiddling with the plastic and metal pieces in the bag. I circled the bicycle excitedly, waiting for something to happen. He took about 10 minutes to plant all the pieces on his bike before scooping me up to put me into what looked like a soft chair. I didn’t dare move at first (afraid of heights), but the chair fitted me snugly and I felt secure and comfortable in it.
It’s finally time for adventure at our neighbourhood park! Mama put me in the chair again, and before I knew it, papa sat behind me and started cycling!
I tried to wiggle out of the seat at first but was quickly distracted by the moving trees and people around me. It felt like a car ride, just that I didn’t need to stick my head out of the window to feel the breeze! I was so thrilled, I drooled all over the seat (sorry Sam! Mama will clean it)! Sadly, due to the hot weather, we only rode for about an hour.
I kept bugging mama to buy me one as we cycled back home, and I think it worked! Needless to say, I will try my very best to make this a regular activity. ;P
Mama’s note: The buddyrider was very sturdy and it felt safe for both the rider and pup (up to 13.5kg). It was really easy and quick to install (installation guide). But, take heed that it may not fit some bikes that are much smaller than the standard size (top bar length should be at least 50cm), or with handlebars that curve inwards. The design was also well thought out, giving Latte the options of sitting down normally or sitting down with her front legs resting on the upper platform.
